Building control inspections

When you reach a key stage in your project you should contact building control before covering up the work or progressing further, as a site inspection may be required. These stages are below:
  • Start of work
  • Commencement of work
  • Foundation excavation
  • Retaining walls
  • Oversite preparation - before laying concrete or floor units
  • Damp proof course
  • Foul and surface water drains before covering
  • Structure
  • Fire safety
  • Progress or general
  • Occupation
  • Completion of work

We will inform you when we acknowledge receipt of your application of the stages we wish to be notified. Inspection requests received before 15:00pm (weekdays) will be scheduled for the next day or the day requested, where possible.
